Got the camp layout thru in the outpost for Bath, just a bit concerned about space, getting 3 rows of tents along that flower border area? do you know how much tentage Hoghtons will have, is the middle row for them? I think 36th will have 6 tents out, we had heard that some of the 13th were coming, not sure how many.
Looking forward to the event, on saturday eve Trumpets will be having an "unortentic Irish" thingytails & canapes night so all welcome!

But hey, what do I care, us Frenchies will be safely tucked away in the woods!! La Plume

Are you sure I can't lure you out, not with my special striped canapes(not the curtain types although I know Vic was impressed with my canvas curtain idea) I am going out full steam ahead with some weird treats so make sure you get to Trumpets early on sat evening as they may go quickly! I am such a superb cook, these morsals of exquisite mouth watering humbug style canapes will be warfare in their own right! quite literally!

I am a 'new boy in the dorm'. Intend to visit Bath on Sun (but if you advise me to, I may be able to make Sat eve) in order to get a better idea of how best to take part. Whilst I have shotgun and blackpowder licences from another era, I have no kit yet. Any top tips please? Cheers.

AHH sTEVIE not to worry we shall save one of the humbug dianamite canape's just for you!
New boy on the dorm hello, what size are you? If you are a medium build, we have a spare waistcoat & breeches you can borrow, maybe others in the society have other bits you could borrow, as its one thing to come and have a look, but more enjoyable if you take part!what period do you already do as you may be able to adapt some of that kit ie shirt/ shoes?

Dear Minkie, Thanks. I am probably about a 'Large' as, my once-toned pectorals now inhabit the area of my waist (Dammit!). My alter ego resides in the 17th Century so I have collarless shirts in both cotton and raw linen. My shoes are straight lasted 'soldier's shoes' with ties, so probably sub-optimal. I am not too proud not to buy 2nd hand kit if anyone is flogging stuff, not least of all a musket (I have a matchlock, so would leave that in the armoury at work). I'll come along in modern gear, but bring one or two possible items with me. Is it worth me coming on Sat eve (taking some Americans to tea in London on the afternoon)? Regards.

dEAR cARMICHAEL - If you are teaing it in London, you may be worn out entertaining so come sunday and have a leisurely trip out, yes bring along what kit you have, the shirts sound adaptable, and shoes if you end up wearing gaiters they would cover your out of period shoes to get you started, I'm not sure if anyone has second hand kit for sale, you never know, but there is plenty of help in the group to get you started. Are you a member of NFOE or thinking about joining? If you are a member, bring your matchlock ( yes I know out of period) but it fires along with your licences, and shirt shoes etc, and we will patch you up so you could play on the sunday. If you are not yet a member then come along on the sunday and have alook, everyone is very freindly and can advise you on what you will need!Come and find the 36th on the redcoat camp and we'll help you as best as we can.

Thanks to one and all for the hospitality shown yesterday (Sun) at Bath. I had come with the firm intention of picking a role, or at least a side, but you are all such good representatives of your own choice that one is left with about 7 different potential outlets...oh dear!
