From www.livinghistory.co.uk/forums/viewtopic.php?p=76749#76749 by Mark Price of the 13th Foot Minden is set for 7th to 10th of June 2007 as a trial event hopefully leading to the big one in 2009. I can pm contact details of the organiser if you are interested. I think currenty the French are represented by Royal Ecossois and Garde Francais so some white coats should be welcome. Also having a strong interest in the European battles of the 7YW I'd be keen to learn more...

Andy, Count me in please. I used to live in Minden and am very familiar with the battlefield. I also have loads of contacts there so can help facilitate things for you if that would help.

Dear Andy, I used to run battlefield tours for 11 Armd Bde so would be very happy to lay on something. Will you be at the Gunpowder Mills? I cannot attend on Fri, but intend to be there on Sat and Sun. Ewan

Since last year I try to get in contact with the group "Artillerie du Roi" www.freewebs.com/artillerie/index.htm to invite them to Minden, too. No matter what I do, I didn't get any reply. Does this group still exist? al, 36th are the "Flemmings"...the ones with the green Facings, right? Does your group have a Homepage? Because I need some further Informations about this Regiment, its History, its Duty in Seven Years War etc. Mark Price sended me some good pictures of "Flemmings", I only need this Informations, please. By the way, what do you think? Is there a Interess about an big Reenactment in Minden in 2009 in the F&I/SY-War-Scene in Britain and USA/Canada? For 2009 I'm looking for french an british Infantry-, Artillery- and Cavalry-Units, also Civilians, Traders, Artists etc. Certainly no Indians, Trappers, Militias or Jacobites etc.

Hi Udo, the Artillerie du Roi is still going and I you do regularly get through to me. Sorry about being a bit rubbish with getting back to you but I regularly forward on stuff to all those others in NFOE interested in Minden. I'm afraid all the Artilleries efforts are going towards getting to America for the 2008 Ticonderoga. However if time allows I may tag along with some of our boys for this years do! Again, many red-faced apologies! Cheers Will

Ok, let me know early (till the end of march, if possible), if you want to come to the 2007-Event. The nimber of participatin Groups is limited, because the Loction "Fort C" is not the biggest one.
I invited
British:
- Pulteney's (GB) (They'll come) - Flemming's (GB) (They'll come)
French
- Gardes Francoises (I) (They'll come) - Royal Eccossais (F) (Still no Reply) - La Sarre (D) (They'll come) - Artillerie du Roi (...)
German
- Erbprinz v. Hessen-Darmstadt (D) (Still no Reply)
For more groups there is not enough Space. Minden 2007 is the test for 2009
Do you think, you'll come 2009?

Hi Udo,
On a good day with a following wind, the ICFdlM can chuck out 8 white coats.
I had forwarded Living History forum posts to them last week to see if there is any interest.

Hi Andy! Do you speak about 2007 or 2009?
If about 2007, please tell me quick. As I said: The Fort C is not the biggest one, so that the place is limited in the area of the Fortification.
Maybe I have to look, if its possible to use the external area which was normally not planned

Both - though in all reality getting anything sorted for this year would be a miracle me thinks.
With attrition rates etc, from a potential of 8, I think we'd be lucky to see 4 or 5 though… (especially as 3 of them have had babies in the last few months or are expecting imminently…..)
