Hi All,
Was contacted last night by a society who regularly do a 15 day bivouac near Pau, near the Pyrenees. They have specifically asked us for British troops of the line, militia and British allied Indians. They re-create the rgt of Bearn and have oodles of members to do that. Eagle-eyed message boarders may have seen them as they have been mentioned before at;
www.reconstitution.fr
Dates are August the 1st to the 15th........ and the best thing?
Its expenses paid people!
Organisers will include:
reasonable travelling costs
) breakfast,3 course lunch,and 3 course dinner-wine included
) powder
) uniforms and leather work if required
You need to bring muskets (easier said than done, you would need a European firearms pass) and tentage (I am assuming modern!) And they really want a fifer!(One for Baz there)
The organisers: Les Sentiers de l'Histoire, President Mr. Patrick Charlot
with the support of the Conseil General Pyrenees Atlantique
The Exact location is the Chateaux de Laas, Pau which is owned by the Bearn department.
The daily schedule (last year) 10am chateaux open to public
12pm lunch
2pm skirmish followed by drill display
4pm skirmish
7pm chateaux closes -time to bathe in the river
8pm apperatifs followed by dinner
not many public arrive before midday,so the mornings are very relaxed
Any questions ask and I will forward them on!
