sounds good.
There's a black powder range in the village I live in, and Bisley is just down the road, but I still have never gone live firing which is a shame really.

Andy, you realise that live firing your weapon is actually the law in my world. I always reckon that to fully understand a firearm you must know how it behaves when live shot is being fired from it, this also increases your awareness of the importance of safety when loading, even if your only loading with powder, people forget that a paper cartridge can also become a projectile when fired from a gun barrel and will certainly do damage at a very close range. Stangely enough, us 36th types are just looking at live firing with an authentic load cartridge with the ball tied into the top in order to try and understand a little better exactly how such loading and firing would have behaved in a battle.

Totally agree. I fired live once at Badshot Lea with a friend's match-stick gun (very uncouth) and at a farm in Witney when I got my first doglock. The extra respect you get for your weapon as soon as you load it was an eye opener for sure. But I have fired nothing live since 1995

Comma to think of it, don't the MOD have a full stop loading procedure in place on all of their rangers, in order that proper breathing technique be taking into consideration whilst firing..??
