A quick update on this event, we will be given the use of the kitchens at Cowdrey, so as to add to the day we will be able to cook hot meals(well Judith and Shell will weave some 'magic'). We will theme the day on going into winter quarters looking forward to 1759. So some drill and social bantering plus recruiting will be in order. So a good day for anybody interested will be garanteed.

Everybody is welcome,we are getting there about 0930 and finnish around 17.00, but people are free to come and go as they please,no need for lots of kit (tents etc) weather will not affect us as we can play inside if nessary. Its a chance for a end of season social if you like , kit repairs bit of drill game of chess or do a bit of cooking in the kitchen.

Lester. If you are a NFOE member fine.
but if not Tod and myself will have to contact Wil and agree it open to Le RaT. Until then you won't be insured.

Hi I'm interested in doing some FIW next year, I've already exchanged a few messages with Will and Steve, particularly portaying British Militia. Given that it'll be about a four hour round trip for me I was wondering if it'll be worth me coming to this as a member of the public?

Well, it is a pretty low-key gathering, just a few people who live relatively close. The main idea is to try and gain a little pre-event publicity for next years' event there. However, if you are considering joining up to do Brit Militia it would give you a chance to meet and chat with Colin Spicer, who is Brit commander.

Well done and many thanks to those who made the day at Cowdrey so much fun.Once again Heather made us feel welcome as did the staff. For me the day flew by and Ian and I think it will make a cracking site for the skirmish there next year. Also we have an idea for a second gathering there around this time of year for a weekend,at this stage the house is keen, those who went yesterday were up for it and we shall ask those who go to the official event next year (30Th/31St May) how they would feel about it. Cant say much more now as its only an idea..what I will say is............Party On Dudes ! Hey Ian could we have fireworks ?

Hello everyone, I just wanted to say thank you for coming on 11th October - it was such a great day, you guys were great (as usual). We had 97 visitors that day - almost a record! Considering we didn't even advertise it, it bodes well for the weekend next May. Just a small point (but really niggly for a perfectionist like me!) - can you make sure the house name is spelt "Cowdray"? Thanks guys, it's just that I spend half my life trying to get it right in various publications!! It's nearly as bad as my surname!!! Well, i hope you ahve a great winter, and I look forward to working with you again in 2009. All the best, Heather at Cowdray
