Commando assault course challenge for Help for Heroes.
Hello my special little forms of fungus.
I've had a yap with Will about the event posted below,
and we realise this is not an event that will appeal to most.
No insurance cover has been offered by either group to cover members
and the MOD regard such events as ' at your own risk'.
However, private third party only insurance is being sought to cover those taking part.
The entire point of this event is to raise as much money as possible for the Help for Heroes charity between now and the 25th of July.
If you can think of a way of raising some cash, then we will love you to death and the army will seriously appreciate your efforts.
Lester has proposed he do a table top sale to raise money,
this is a fantastic way of making a few/ a fair bit of money and ideas
such as Lesters are the way forward on this we think.
I am one on the muppets who will be actually doing the Commando
course in July, along with around 40 others from other bases in our area.
any donation recieved is going to make a difference, i kid you not.
should you want sponsor forms, they can be downloaded from the
Help for Heroes website. www.helpforheroes.org.uk/
Go to downloads, upload sponsor form PDF 2
Heres the advert for the actual event.
We have been given special permission by the OC base security at RMB Chivenor North Devon, to run the commando assault course to raise money for the Help for Heroes charity.
The challenge will be instructed by commando assault PT training team with RAF paramedics stationed on base to cover medical needs.
You will not be under time trial to complete the course, it is a challenge to just get around it and say you did a real commando assault training course.
This to take place on the 25th July of this year.
Very serious part..........VERY IMPORTANT.
you are not allowed onto this MOD base if you are a civilian under the age of 18.
you will be asked to sign a waver by the military to exempt the MOD from
any injury that you suffer whilst on this challenge.
you must provide your full name and names of all persons in the vehicle that you intend to drive onto the base and vehicle reg, to me at least a month prior to the event for security reasons.
you must not move around any part of the base other than the areas you are directed to whilst on base, or you could be arrested.
no pictures of military vehicles or persons please.
The military training team instructors are to be listened to at all times whilst you are taking part in the challenge.
If you do not listen to them, they will not allow you onto the commando course.
These notes for attention are for your own safety as you will be on a working military base.
We are attempting to raise as much money as poss for Help for Heroes this year to go directly to the rehabilitation of men & women from RMB Chivenor who have been injured.
If you don't fancy the commando assault course challenge, but would like to fund raise with us from now until mid summer, or even until the end of this season, then that would be fantastic and would help greatly.
You can download a sponsor form from the Help for Heroes website.
www.helpforheroes.org.uk/
Go to downloads, see PDF download sponsor form 2 and download it,
get a load of sponsorship money, post us the cheque, we will give it directly to the Help for Heroes team based at RMB Chivenor.
the military will appreciate the effort you have put in for them.
If you have your own ideas for fundraising over the year then that would also be great..........every penny really counts.
