Got a couple of books from crown point when we were there. 'Re-enactors' guide to the French army in Nouvelle-France 1755-1760' volumes 1 & 2 by François Gousse. Volume 1 is the basics, Volume 2 the campaign of 1755. He plans to do more volumes (abt 12 in total!) with the next being uniforms, equipment and rations.

once unpacked enough I'll find the address that's in them. The author is French/Canadian and a re-enactor, so mine are signed.

The website in the books doesn't work ( www3.sympatico.ca/gousse-matte/fdl/fdl.htm ), but I have the ISBN and postal address ISBN:2-9804591-2-7 (VOLUME 1), 2-9804591-3-5 (VOLUME 2). La Fleur de Lyse, 1649 Labonté, Chambly, Québec, Canada, J3L 5M6
Steve, if you mean the book I think you do, it's his sister Suzanne who wrote it.
Forget to say I also got 'Memoir of a French and Indian War Soldier'. I expect most people have a copy of this though.

Got those pair. The first book is really useful as it is all about soldiers daily like, pay, regs etc. The second book is an excellent source of French translations of the 1755 campaign where William Johnson beat Baron Dieskau. Spoke to the Author at Ticonderoga last time I was there and unfortunately they didn't really sell that well so no plans for any more. I say snap them up while you can. They are available from www.smoke-fire.com/french-and-indian-war-books-2.aspwww.pinetreeshilling.com/shop_b.htmland a few other places. Memoir of an F&I Soldier is one of the most entertaining reads you will have! I am always amazed that truth (well recollection at least!) is much more interesting than fiction. Picked up some more good books in Canada that I will put in the Useful Books section
